Dr. Richard Khiem Tran is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of IBBC Capital. He holds a doctorate in finance and brings twenty years of training and practice across the six disciplines that define a modern financial institution: investment banking, asset management, private equity, hedge funds, trading and quantitative finance. Today he leads IBBC Capital’s mission to connect international capital with investment-ready opportunities in Vietnam.

A bridge between Vietnam, Wall Street and Zurich. Over his career, Dr. Tran has built long-standing working relationships with financial institutions and professionals in New York and Zurich. He uses this network to bring international standards, capital and expertise to Vietnamese enterprises and projects, and to give global investors a trusted, evidence-based view of Vietnam.
Leadership philosophy. He leads with three principles: evidence before conviction, risk discipline before return, and governance before growth. Under his leadership, IBBC Capital is building an integrated platform across these six lines of business, with each line opening only as the corresponding licences are granted. The platform is built to serve investors, project owners and the Vietnam International Financial Centre.
